I think the Grammy’s were built for people like me. Full throttle self diagnosed A.D.D, fast and furious. I realized that the show is typically programmed for someone probably between the ages of 16 and 23, but for some reason even after tuning in almost 30 minutes late, I was enthralled and glued to the tv.

Here were some of the thoughts I quickly jotted down to note:

1. I’m sorry Bocelli and Mary don’t really mix. (Though I am impressed with them teaming up for the Haitian Relief) Mary’s not going to the opera and Bocelli aint coming to the hood. So if they could table that love affair and save them for their <del datetime="2010-02-01T13:07:42+00:00">Christmas get togethers round the fire</del> for future Haitian relief efforts, that would be great.

2. Finally my girl Lalah was nominated, but lost to B-Jiggity. I really feel like Lalah has FINALLY broken through that barrier that had her largely unknown for going on 20 years. Its ok for her to go mainstream. She doesn’t BELONG to me anymore.

3. Ok. I LOVE Sara Smile by Hall and Oats, but what the hel! year is this?

4. Style Watch…the black man equestrian boots, I can’t feel that right now.

5. What in the hel! has Tpain done? I went and took a bathroom Grammy break and all I could hear was Bon Jovi and some autotune. I be damned.

6. Ok how sick is Travis Barker on drums with Drake, Wayne and Em? This dude was like almost dead in a plane crash last year. That was a super hot performance, though Drake really bothers me, but I gotta say it was a little over a year ago when our faithful reader NoNo was talking about this underground Canadian rapper that was gonna blow up.

7. Am I the only one who loves Carlos Santana and his peep toe pumps? Does anybody know that he’s also a mean @ss shoe designer or is that his wife?

8. After watching 60 minutes this morning, I have a whole new respect for Beyonce. I still say I AM the ultimate Barbra Streisand fan and have been since birth, but this girl is the bomb.

1. BET (Black Entertainment Television/Viacom): For some reason B.E.T disgusts me. But I will be watching Monique’s show though. But aside from that, this network really disgusts me, not just for the low brow stereotypical stuff, but it seems like EVERYTHING they touch is so unfocused. This network never grew up. Even some of the programming sort of in my demographic (Harlem Heights) seems lack luster, VERY rehearsed, uninspired, an inauthentic.

(and as I watch that whole Taraji Henson and Tyrese “reenactment”…I am so much more sure, B.E.T is retarded. What was that “Jodi” back and forth about? I know, the movie. But it was still stupid.

2. My little cousin on Facebook “cyber cakin” to the ladies: Im 13 years older than my cousin. But dammit he’s still a child to me. And it is just so gross for him writing to other women like he’s grown and I HAVE TO READ IT. I know I could have denied his friend request, but I was a little curious. And now I’m just grossed out. And I’m even more taken aback at how forward young women are. “You are so dam!n sex!y”, is not how a young woman signals she’s interested. I have been tempted a few times to comment on some of his updates to the ladies and vice versa. But I figure I have plenty of time to embarrass my children on social networks when I have them.

3. Beyonce’s dress on the awards show tonight: nuff said.

Welcome Back Comeback Boys ***Opening the Tree House Door***

So yesterday I quoted Beyonce in a comment on the “Why Men Love Bitches” book. Sure she’s a great entertainer, a brilliant singer.

However, I think some of you probably think I have two heads intellectualizing Bigga like she’s Aristotle or Plato. Well Comeback Girls, perhaps she is particularly as it relates to relationships. Maybe she’s on to something, she’s pulled the richest man in Rap and lyrically (be it fact or fiction) the biggest pimp too. She just may have turned a hoe into a husband- and I don’t think it was magic nor was her beauty the only fairy dust.

I think there is something to be said for letting a man know that he is always free to go (outside of a committed marriage), hence green light. For some reason men can sometimes get real brand new when they think you have them on lock.

Jennifer Armour takes her “Baby Boy” claim to federal appeals claiming that the hook and some lyrics from her song “Got a Little Bit of Love for You” were used without permission.
http://www.eurweb.com/ states:

“Jennifer Armour of Shakopee, Minn already had her lawsuit dismissed by a Houston judge, but the woman appealed her case, believing it should be heard by a jury, reports the Associated Press.” Armour filed her appeal yesterday, Oct 4, 2007.

In true comeback fashion Armour is NOT GIVING THIS UP. Appeals are expensive and time consuming, but, attorneys on Jennifer’s side are stating that the previous judge got the legal standard wrong. (A sample of Armour’s work can be found on her site www.jenniferarmour.com )

Nothing is truly ever original. An idea/concept including fashion is always a reinterpretation of something else. Music in common might be a whole nother bowl of comeback girl humble pie. I’d love to hear both versions.

Where is Star Jones when you need her?
