Girl you are looking FABULOUS! And I love that shirt! Your shoes are funky, but if I was a runner, I’d give them a try.

Thanks Ja, I’m trying…

I thought the Vibrams looked uber crazy last year on the foot. But they are SOOOO comfortable and great to run in too..on concrete, padded tracks and treadmills. I’ll do a video later so yall can see them on. They do look a little strange..but i love them.

You look hot Mama!

Man, I need someone to talk astrology with… because I have made the exact same discoveries last year… and still working on them… I tried writing about it, but was not comfortable enough with the process to do so… and there is something to be said about writing from the OTHER side of the aisle… when things have clicked AND results can be shown for it… So I’m still on my journey, and I am so so so glad to have the treehouse back! 😀

p.s: I have heard great great things about the vibram 5 fingers. The Paleo/Primal folks are all over it… and they look cool as heck. I promised myself to get it as a reward when I reach a certain point. :)

Keep it up lady!

I’m semi sorta of obsessed with astrology…but I’m also finding that although there are significant things going on like Jupiter returns …planet of luck not seen in like 10 years affecting every sign..sometimes I think its better just not to read it..and consider everyday lucky.

“I have heard great great things about the vibram 5 fingers. The Paleo/Primal folks are all over it… and they look cool as heck. I promised myself to get it as a reward when I reach a certain point”

I can’t believe how freakin comfortable they are ..even on hard pavement.

Echoing Jada in saying that you look FANTABULOUS!

I agree 100% with the connection between mind, body and spirit. When your mind is not in the right place, I truly believe that it usually manifests in a physical sense. I just tend to lose weight when there’s a disconnect.

Girl you look great! Im slowly trying to get my run on. Ive never been a runner and ive gotten up to walking 4 miles in an hour. My doc said its time to try incorporating a lil running in there now.. im scared and excited.
I have 50 lbs left to lose. and you are so right when my mind and body are not in line the weightloss stops. regardless of how much excercise and how well I eat.
its taken me over 30 years to realize this.
its so weird i think everything happens for a reason. And I remember the point at when i “met” you online at VSB. I was not always in agreement but i loved the style with which you commented.. I found your blog months later and the atmosphere here was so warm and nurturing it helped me through many days and when you left I had to look elsewhere.
and I realized that I was doing to much “on line” and needed to get my real life together.
I pulled back from commenting/blogging and started to concentrate on me and my health. on what makes me happy and it seems like now that I have found that balance ( or close to it) here you are again! lol
so like a small reward!!
and it so good that you have been walking that same path!!

question. do you follow any particular diet?

I had the exact same experience! I even unplugged everything for Lent… No FB-ing, no nothing… I just felt like I was generally using the internet to “escape” so to speak. Instead on focusing on what I should be doing.

@ Shay.. Girl you got me over here shedding tears and shat..As much as I think I helped others..Yall helped me more..challenged some of my fyucked up assumptions (and some of them even today about love relationships are still a little warped..from my old self.)

re: the jogging/running. I would just say start off with a minute or 60 seconds at the lowest speed that still feels doable for you. With me I was like on 2.9 mph and would give it a go for a minute or two and would be worn out as he!l. This one chick even laughed at me and commented to her friend on the treadmill on how slow I was going…But that’s how even marathoners train, one day they work on speed, one day endurance, one day tempo. You’re working one endurance to get going. Spend the rest of the time walking as far as you can. And jog in intervals that feel comfortable for you. (btw..im not an expert..so that’s my disclosure)

do you follow any particular diet?

CHILE I done tried EVERYTHING. Atkins, low fat, smaller portions, six small meals.

But now I’ve realize that my body wacks the hell out on white bread. That’s one thing from Atkins that I’ve kept. Sara Lee has a whole grain/wheat 100 calorie bun that I make sandwiches with. Check out the Jorge Curz “Belly Fat Cure” for recipes and pics..alot of stuff I didn’t know I could eat, spicy mayo, wheat wraps, chicken fingers..”

I also swear by 1 gallon of water a day. Its tough. But I still drink regular coffee (this time I lay off of the 600 calorie caramel machiattos) and take my non dairy creamer and 1 pack of splenda in it. You probably don’t need a full gallon if you aren’t drinking coffee–because it dehydrates you. But I would try to get as close as possible to it. Esp, if you’re working out quite a bit too and living in hot azz TX.

Holly GoLightly June 21, 2011 at 9:04 am

I’ve been trying to drink half my body weight in water…. and there’s no way I can give up coffee! But I did remix it by just doing black coffee with a packet of splenda… it was hard at first.

Comeback Tiffy June 21, 2011 at 10:14 am

@ HGL…half my body weight wasn’t working for me…LOL…PLUS..if you drink coffee you gotta add more water. Coffee is a natural diuretic. (sp) and VERY dehydrating. Coffee in the morning already starts me out on a water deficit. I would encourage you to add at least another 8 ounces if you’re drinking anything with caffeine..like tea and esp, coffee.

Holly GoLightly June 20, 2011 at 10:34 am

I am definitely saying the same as everyone! Comeback you look AWESOME! And I am with you on the mind, body, spiritual connection… thats something I am trying to get together as well…

I am also looking into the Vibrams… I’ve seen them in the gym and have been like what in the world!!

“I am also looking into the Vibrams… I’ve seen them in the gym and have been like what in the world!!”

Thanks Holly..they do look strange..But Like I wrote upthread..they feel SOOOOO GOOOOOOD On the feet. Its something you gotta get used to. But I really refuse to go back now to regular tennis shoe/sneaker. NB makes a shoe with a vibram sole. I may check that one out too.

Girl I was telling my friend about those and what you were saying about them… She’s a non-believer, but I think I am going to check them out this weekend, because I would definitely like to incorporate some running into the regimen. Did you order them online or purchase in a store?

Reply

Comeback Tiffy June 21, 2011 at 10:15 am

@ HGL..I got them from REI. But they had to order my size. I would encourage you to try ANY style of Vibrams on on the store to make sure they fit you well..they go by the Euro sizes. I’m a 41. Walk around in them..run in them..get a feel for them etc..

Thank you girl! Gonna go this weekend will let you know the outcome!!

Sunny June 20, 2011 at 10:36 am

I’ll say it again- you’re looking Tony the Tiger Great!!!!! Love it.

JT runs and he and a guy from our couple’s Sunday School class are trying to convince me to start. After the baby (because of course, everything is put on hold until she comes), I think I’ll take it up. I want to lose about 50 pounds and be healthy for her. I REFUSE to be a tired parent that can’t even run around after their kid- CARRYING HER ALREADY exhausts me.

We are gonna go to runner’s store upon our classmate’s recommendation because he said they put you through a series of tests in order to find a perfect shoe.

But enough of SUNNY— lol. As much as I missed reading on your hiatus, I am in support of whatever it takes to get yourself together because it’s definitely showing. 😉

Thanks Sunny!!!! I’m in total support of the running store too, where they put you on the treadmill and watch your gait and stuff like that..I wanna go too. I just don’t want them pushing a 200 dollar shoe on me. LOL..

You’re gonna be a fly momma!!!!!

Sunny June 20, 2011 at 9:52 pm

Thanks doll!!!

O m g, I pray they don’t push a $200 shoe on me either. Girl, I can’t stomach paying that much!

Sunny have you guys decided on a birthing method yet??

Reply

Sunny June 21, 2011 at 11:51 am

Oh girl. You KNOW natural is OUT OF THE QUESTION.. lmbo.

Everything was up in the air because Zoe had a complication and we didn’t know if she was gonna have to be delivered early or not. The doctor said she had CCAM which is a clot formed in her lungs so I had to ultrasounds more often than normal to monitor it because we were watching if it would effect her heart functioning.

As of last week, the doctor said the clot had taken care of itself so everything is good. (Nothing but God, hear???)

But that has really been my main concern this whole time. But I was told I’d be a candidate for vaginal (even though I WANT A C SECTION- I am so scared for birth. lol)

Holly GoLightly June 21, 2011 at 4:42 pm

WOWOWOWOW!!! Im so glad she is ok!! I will keep you guys and especially Zoe in my prayers!!

When are you due?

I thought of you when I went through the outlets and saw Carters! :)

Reply

Sunny June 21, 2011 at 7:30 pm

Thanks girl… prayers are always welcome! 😉

She is due August 20. But the way she’s been kicking since yesterday????? Honeychile. Lol.

Awwww, there is a Carters in the outlets on the way to Indianapolis so my friend keeps saying we are gonna go. Her son, my god son, is one.

Holly GoLightly June 20, 2011 at 10:38 am

I have another question… how did you get yourself in the running mode? My cardio has been coming from spin, elliptical, and kickboxing. Also, have you tried doing a two-a-day? I am thinking of implementing this on tomorrow… wish me luck!

“I have another question… how did you get yourself in the running mode? ”

@ Holly..I think it was between the gym and bootcamp. Bootcamp we have to run around this block and I was already doing it on the treadmill. And the longer I could go, the more psyched I got. And then I just started watching my breathing and pushing myself more. I started around last sept with the 60 year old trainer..And then I decided that I needed someone around my age in Oct. Though GI Jane was fly…she talked too much (sometimes i just wanna work out..not hear about 1962) and when I started I was very self conscious because there were these skinny chicks in her class who ran for fun ..and would leave my azz behind in the dust on the Sat outside runs LOL..

“My cardio has been coming from spin, elliptical, and kickboxing”

I wanna try spinning…Elliptical I do too and Kickboxing. Thats really good cardio. I lift too after cardio.

Two a day…YES!!! I thought about this too..I’m in the gym for about 1.5. But 2 a day I think kicks it into overdrive. I would maybe suggest cardio in the morning and weights at night..(and vice versa) I probably wouldnt do both types twice a day.

I;m sure you’re gonna rock it either way. You don’t need luck.!!!!

Reply

Holly GoLightly June 21, 2011 at 9:10 am

I’ve had bad experiences in Bootcamp, but I may need to retry it. I saw a Bootcamp that’s here featured in Jet lastnight and the owner was giving some great tips on things….

I love SPIN!!! Only thing is the first times you start your butt will hurt from the seat, but it’s a good cardio! I also found that when I sat with the men in class I pushed myself harder and forced myself to do the resistance.

Also I didn’t do the 2 a day…. :( Said friend from earlier said I would hurt myself and that I should wait another week or two before I start.

Sunny June 21, 2011 at 3:31 pm

@Jade: Yep, I really had mentioned it on Facebook or anything because a lot of my family didn’t know. Me and J’s view on it was to remain positive and not concentrate too hard on it because we knew God was gonna take care of her regardless. They had told us that if it started to interfere with her heart functioning that I’d have to be induced and she’d have surgery to solve it….

and we didn’t really mention it because you know how people are, they put their worries and concerns on you. I wrote about it alot on my blog..
