I wanted to lighten up The Comeback Girl.com on Easter Monday. Its Sunday (at press time) and I’m watching the most underrated and smartest TV of 2009. The No 1. Ladies Detective Agency, in my opinion is just beautiful cinematography exposing all the wonderfulness that I always thought South Africa was, but never got a chance to see.
Of course the Jill Scott -YaYa -mystery element is another reason that I’m glued to the television every Sunday at 8pm. But I realize that not everyone has HBO or cable. But in my opinion its worth the subscription. Sad to say, that I have a tendency to judge those who have never seen the show, thinking of them in a sort of mindless drone sort of way. Many of us have guilty pleasures in television: reality shows or music videos.

First episode of No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency starring Jill Scott
But what is the “truly smart T.V.” that makes you a T.V. Snob?

the Discovery, History, and National Geographic channels and C-Span … Sadly, I watch entirely too much of the first three.
But I’d rather watch those than any reality television show. It’s a farce that they call it reality because 95.3 percent of it is not real.
I haven’t had ANY time to watch t.v but if I did I would be watching espn, fox business, hgtv, and spike.
I watch a lot of reality TV because I enjoy the mindless drama…but my smart TV is anything CNN, CSpan Meet the Press, Face the Nation, Bill Maher…hell just about anything political, oh and Dateline. I heart documentaries though, doesn’t matter what they’re about usually, I just enjoy the inside look.
I too watch Ladies Detective…last night’s episode was great.
Good Morning TreeHouse, is my club house membership revoked?
I love the history channel, i recently wactched something about the shroud of Jesus, the council of Nicea and this whole thing on the Mafia. But lately I haven’t watched much tv.
How is everyone? What have I missed?
Im a music snob too. It bothers me when people listen to music that doesn’t mean jack. What is a stanky leg anyway? LOL
xoxo
The First 48, The Office, Family Guy (if you don’t like it, I assume you have no personality.)
Morning Treehousers!
Thanks everybody for your concern last week. I had gotten really sick but I am feeling a bit better today. I hope everyone else has been in good health.
My Snob TV:
No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency
Real Time with Bill Maher
NCIS
Foresic Files
and I’m a fan of TLC, Oxygen Channel, and TV1.
@ Damon:
I watched Slumdog about 6 or so times now! It is a phenomenal movie and I love the way they shot it. Definitely deserved all of the awards is won. Jamal’s dedication to Letika, even as a child, was astounding. Absolutely ADORE this movie.
Hey Jada! We are glad to see your face back!
Hey Sunny! How was your weekend hon?
Good Morning Everyone,
I cannot stand reality tv. I can’t watch it. Sunday mornings I watch C-Span, Meet the Press, and This Week with George Stephanopolous. I am also a fan of PBS, Discovery Channel, History, and National Geographic. Frontline and Bill Moyers Journal are two of my favorites. Cable is killing network tv with better shows. My favorite shows on cable are Entourage, Eastbound and Down, Bill Maher, Breaking Bad, and Burn Notice. Favorite network tv shows are Better off Ted, The Office, My Name is Earl, and Family Guy. I just saw this new show on comedy central called Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword that was mad funny. This might be another favorite of mine. Whats ironic is that I like all of these shows but I rarely watch them.
@Akua
“Im a music snob too. It bothers me when people listen to music that doesn’t mean jack. What is a stanky leg anyway? ”
I’ve been accused of being a music snob. I don’ t think i’m a snob. I just need more from my music than tough talk, and trunk rattling.
I’ve been accused of being a music snob. I don’ t think i’m a snob. I just need more from my music than tough talk, and trunk rattling.
Amen!
@Jada: My weekend was good.. one more wedding down. Thank u JESUS (he-sus).. lol
How was yours?
@Jada
How are you? You’ve been missed.
My dad doesn’t have HBO anymore…BOO!!
My Snob Channels: CNN, FOX(if you want to beat the enemy you better know what they are talking about), Ovation, Discovery, TLC, History Channel, Biography,BETJ,TVONE,Cartoon Network, Sundance, CNBC
Too many shows to mention but here are the highlights: South Park, The Boondocks, Family Guy, Afro Samurai and Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist, Ghost in the Machine-cartoons, Frasier, Dateline, 20/20,Inside Actors Studio,Incocolast, Suze Orman, Keith Olberman
@Nik Did you slay em’ at the wedding girl?
@Bgrits
“My Snob Channels: CNN, FOX(if you want to beat the enemy you better know what they are talking about)”
FOX does not qualify as a snob channel. It would be along the same lines as reality TV shows.
I forgot one of my favorites The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
@B: Girl, YES. lmao. I’m kidding, but I am so glad it is done! that dress was hot as HADES.
My cousin’s mama had to be admitted to the hospital so she didn’t even get to see her child get married! She’s out now, but they never did find out what was wrong with her… they couldn’t figure out of she has a seizure or a stroke. She’s had seizures throughout the years.
@Jada: My weekend was good.. one more wedding down. Thank u JESUS (he-sus).. lol
How was yours?
It was alrightt. My family came from out of town so we’ve had all of them for the weekend. I hid eggs for the kids Easter egg hunt yesterday. Other than that just trying to get some rest.
@Jada
How are you? You’ve been missed.
I’m feeling better. Still some sporadic chest and stomach pain but at least I’m not chucking everything anymore. Thanks for asking Dear, I’ve missed you all as well!
whyso’s thoughts on tv:
i’m snobby for old episodes of the simpsons, the ones conan obrien participated in. Otherwise, I pretty much have the tv off…
Music snob = yes. I’m too grown to be “turnin my swag on” I’m concentrated on “keeping the lights from going off”.
I simply believe if you’re going to be spending your time listening to music, then why not listen to the best.
yso series.
“It was alrightt. My family came from out of town so we’ve had all of them for the weekend. I hid eggs for the kids Easter egg hunt yesterday. Other than that just trying to get some rest.”
@Jada: I’m glad you are resting girl. We did the Easter egg thing with the kids too!
@Why So
“yes. I’m too grown to be “turnin my swag on” I’m concentrated on “keeping the lights from going off”.”
Cosign. I am just amazed at how some of my friends listen or should I say hear music. They just bump it and dump it. I can follow the trend of what they listened too. The funny thing is that the artist I listened to 10-15 yrs ago are still making music. The artist they listened to 5 yrs ago aint around anymore.
@Jada
“I’m feeling better. Still some sporadic chest and stomach pain but at least I’m not chucking everything anymore. Thanks for asking Dear, I’ve missed you all as well”
I’m glad you are doing better.
I am blaming one of you for putting that ridiculous song in my head now :
jumped up outta beddddddd.
Kill myself.
The funny thing is that the artist I listened to 10-15 yrs ago are still making music. The artist they listened to 5 yrs ago aint around anymore.
Ain’t that some truth right there.
@ Darth
“FOX does not qualify as a snob channel. It would be along the same lines as reality TV shows”
I like it!! I see your point.
@Nik Sorry about your friend’s mom. Jesus be nota David’s Bridal bridesmaid dress!
Good Merning..Scanning through the comments I feel stupid now!!!
I stand behind the fact that No1 Ladies IS SMART TELEVISION. Next to yalls..CNN, Meet the Press, Mensa International Live, Chess World Cup..lol.
let me finish reading.
Good Morning!
Hmmmm t.v. snob. Lately I haven’t been watching alot of tv. I mainly just watch Family Guy (one of THE funniest shows) while in bed about to pass out.
But other shows I do enjoy when I watch – any type of biography or true life story, Jon Stewart, any type of news (I watch in moderation because it can get depressing), old Martin episodes.
I’ve been also been netflixing past seasons of The Office.
I used to be a reality tv addict. I’m in recovery now (well at least until the new season of Bad Girl’s Club).
@darth humble
you are correct. I wonder if some songs weren’t popular or trendy, would people even listen to them?
“snap music” was just bad, but it seems people latched on cause everyone else was doing it.
BTW: r.i.p. snap music lol.
why so
@ Jada – glad you’re doing better!
“@Nik Sorry about your friend’s mom. Jesus be nota David’s Bridal bridesmaid dress!”
@B: Thanks girl..
And nevah and nevah.. lookin like KOOL AID. lol
V Renee: THANK u for your choices… we are the same on that one.
I am blaming one of you for putting that ridiculous song in my head now :
jumped up outta beddddddd.
It’s in my head now. I’m sorry but Souljah boy is low key running the radio right now. Every other song is one of his.
Side note – does anyone else like that Kid Cuddi song Day and Night?
U are sooo right about that dumb Soulja Boy with his bad grammer self.
I love that Kid Cudi song although my brothers were making fun of me for it.
@Jada: I’m glad you liked it, and I hope you’re feeling better.
One word for you: LAAAATTTTTIIIIIKKKKAAAA!
@DarthHumble: I’m glad someone else can get with Discovery, National Geographic, C-Span, etc. ….
As far as Network shows go: Everybody Hates Chris, The Game, All CSIs (you learn how not to do incriminating ish), American Idol and The Office (sometimes). I think that’s it.
I dont like to consider myself a TV or music snob. I feel like there’s a time and place for everything. I like “No 1 Ladies” but sometimes I wanna watch women do stupid stuff for Ray J. Just like I can like “insert whatever overrated ‘positive’ rapper’s” latest song and still get hype whenever “Who Dat” by Jeezy comes on. Although its nice when music and TV can both entertain and educate you, I don’t look to those mediums for that purpose.
Hey Jada, glad you are feeling better.
@V Renee – Where are you from?
Good morning y’all…
Welcome back Jada… Glad you’re feeling better
I am definitely a reality show junkie…..That is all…. Carry on…. lol
@ Jada – glad you’re doing better!
Thanks V…and I love that Kid Cuddi song. My sister has been playing it for months…she got the drop on us!
hi j boogie, glad you are better! missed you round these there parts actually im line i aint even know u was gone….
j/k
@Jada: I’m glad you liked it, and I hope you’re feeling better.
One word for you: LAAAATTTTTIIIIIKKKKAAAA!
I’m feeling better than before thanks! And yes…he was serious about that Letika. I loved the part when he was like You and Me…you’ll dance with me in the moonlight or something like that.
Hey Jada, glad you are feeling better.
Thanks Dear, how have you been NoMo? How are you and Hummy’s classes going?
Welcome back Jada… Glad you’re feeling better
Thanks chica! Did you get to chill and relax at home this weekend?
hi j boogie, glad you are better! missed you round these there parts actually im line i aint even know u was gone….
j/k
You a hot mess Mik! Thanks girlie! How’s that real estate job coming?
And where is JAC?
its going good, very busy getting ready to actually hire some folks so i can get hands off and manage things, and actually get some sleep lol.
Hi JAJA..glad you are feeling better!!!
Thanks chica! Did you get to chill and relax at home this weekend?
@Jada… Well, I relaxed and chilled at my parents house…. My big sis was down…… So that was cool… I’m glad I wasn’t ripping and running all over the place like I usually am.
its going good, very busy getting ready to actually hire some folks so i can get hands off and manage things, and actually get some sleep lol.
Let me find out Ms. Mik is running things. I remember way back when I was a supervisor…I hated every minute of it…so here is to you loving it and doing it very well.
Hi JAJA..glad you are feeling better!!!
Hey CBG! Thanks chica. I watched last night’s episode of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. Great show…and it’s still keeping me interested.
@Humble – Cincinnati
“Let me find out Ms. Mik is running things. I remember way back when I was a supervisor…I hated every minute of it…so here is to you loving it and doing it very well”
I managed a cell phone story back when i was 18 lol. I don’t consider myself the managerial type, but apparently i have some hidden talent that every body seems to see. I have a problem letting go of task and assigning them to other folks, cuz i just don’t trust stuff getting done lol. But for this job I am gonna have to let go and start delegating or umm yea I will go zonkers. So yes pray I do it well cuz its certainly a new challenge. Even today my bosses talkin bout coming in and helping me, i don’t even want them too I just wanna be finished by the time they come in, cuz i can’t deal with them too being chaotic lol.
@ D Money
re: Cspan, makes me sleepy in a good way. Like I like when they shoot authors at bookstores reading from their work. If its like political or in any way intellectual..it makes me sleepy..next to ambien..its the bomb.
@ Tea “I too watch Ladies Detective…last night’s episode was great.” Please pass the word on about No. 1 Ladies. I would like for this show to get picked up for second season.
” I have a problem letting go of task and assigning them to other folks, cuz i just don’t trust stuff getting done lol.”
This is a challenge of mine also. Even when I was in school, and we had to do group work, I was ALWAYS the one who volunteered to write the reports. Not because I enjoyed it, but because I didn’t trust them to get the job done right.
@ Akua
How have you been..When will the book be ready?
@ Sunny
“The First 48, The Office, Family Guy (if you don’t like it, I assume you have no personality.)”
I’m gonna have to catch the first. The family guy is FUNTY…but i never know when its on. Ive never really had a desire to watch the office. But I’ll check it out Sat afternoon on apple tv..thats the only time i have time to watch tv.
@ JaJa
“No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency”
four people in the treehouse and counting, me, you, tea, and nono.
re slumdog..great film.
@ Hummy
“I am also a fan of PBS,”
I love PBS too…I feel so guilty when i watch sometimes..cause I am one person who does not give public access a DIME.
@ B-Money
“Inside Actors Studio”…James Lipton is the MAN!!! He’s one person I love to talk to at a dinner party he seems so smart and down.
@ Why Why:
“i’m snobby for old episodes of the simpsons, the ones conan obrien participated in. Otherwise, I pretty much have the tv off…”
yeah thats pretty snobby..not watching tv.
@ NoNo…I can NOT picture you actually liking No 1. Ladies…
“Even when I was in school, and we had to do group work, I was ALWAYS the one who volunteered to write the reports. Not because I enjoyed it, but because I didn’t trust them to get the job done right”
exactly, I am learning that it can make or break a situation, I get less done doing it alone and being tired is NOT the business. So this week I am going to find a few new people. The good thing is that I do have an almost dummy proof system that I designed so when I do get someone everything is right there outlined for them to handle it.
“I feel so guilty when i watch sometimes..cause I am one person who does not give public access a DIME”
I used to feel like this too watching them telethons did something to my soul, and then they would show the little sick children, im like darnit i just wanna watch mr rogers already!
and that guy that used to paint trees n stuff, always talking bout swish swish swish swish, he would make some of the coolest noises with that paint brush lol.
I’m a lil late but Jaci said she has no power.. there was a storm
“I’m gonna have to catch the first. The family guy is FUNTY…but i never know when its on. Ive never really had a desire to watch the office. But I’ll check it out Sat afternoon on apple tv..thats the only time i have time to watch tv.”
The Family Guy is on around 7 or 8 on TBS, I think… I always find it when I’m flipping channels. lol.
The First 48 is the best crime scene (TRUE.. well as true as reality tv can get) TV ever. Ghetto Louisville, Kentucky was on there a couple of weeks ago (nothing to be proud of)..
If you like sarchastic humor, u will love the Office.
@ 80s
“I am definitely a reality show junkie…..That is all…. Carry on…. lol”
Its OK!!! are you snobby about any of it? I think the real world season with Kevin Powell…my baby daddy in my head!! to me was the best.
@ V “Hmmmm t.v. snob. Lately I haven’t been watching alot of tv. I mainly just watch Family Guy (one of THE funniest shows) while in bed about to pass out.”
that is a good tv show. I think I’ve only watched it maybe twice tho..its really funny. but its not memorable.
@ Mik..who you hiring???? at the govt job?
This is a challenge of mine also. Even when I was in school, and we had to do group work, I was ALWAYS the one who volunteered to write the reports. Not because I enjoyed it, but because I didn’t trust them to get the job done right.
I hated group work because I was always pretty much forced to take the lead on the projects. I can’t say I really wanted the responsibility, but like you guys…I didn’t have very much faith in the abilities of the others…and most of the time with good reason.
Outside of NBA basketball, I can’t say I watch too much TV nowadays. I’ll watch Everybody Hates Chris, The Simpsons and Family Guy occasionally (although Family Guy is starting to get ridiculous lately), and I TiVo Married With Children reruns. I like the History Channel and NGC, but I usually don’t make it a point to watch them. I’ve been kind of a bookworm lately so I don’t have time for TV.
B Grits: “FOX(if you want to beat the enemy you better know what they are talking about)”
Sounds like someone has been reading Sun Tzu.
Humble: “I’ve been accused of being a music snob. I don’ t think i’m a snob. I just need more from my music than tough talk, and trunk rattling.”
Word. (yes, I said word)
Humble: “I forgot one of my favorites The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”
I like Jon Stewart too, even though I only catch his show maybe once a month. There are few things funnier than humbling a person using their own words.
And Jada, you were missed. Welcome back and glad you are feeling better. I think our collective a$$es were itching when you were out.
comeback this is all to do with my second job
“I think our collective a$$es were itching when you were out.”
@ Hewie…re JaJa being missed..this doesn’t sound good.!!! LOL
“comeback this is all to do with my second job”
The real estate one??
and that guy that used to paint trees n stuff, always talking bout swish swish swish swish, he would make some of the coolest noises with that paint brush lol.
Mik I used to love this man. Me and my Grandma would watch him when he came on when I was little. Dude came up with some NICE paintings.
I love the Actor’s Studio guy”
Tell me… what is your favorite curse word? lol…. That question kills me!
Humble: “The funny thing is that the artist I listened to 10-15 yrs ago are still making music. The artist they listened to 5 yrs ago aint around anymore.”
Cosign. Hopefully we’ve seen the end of Lil’ (everyone with that prefix)* and Khia (the My Neck, My Back chick).
Why So: “BTW: r.i.p. snap music lol.”
No. Just die and burn in the lowest circle of the fiery Inferno, snap music. No LOL. I’m serious. A true black eye in the history of hip hop.
*Except Lil Wayne. I’m not a big fan, but I know he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
Aww thank ya Jazzy! You guys are so sweet! I’ve missed my peeps at the Treehouse as well.
“Mik I used to love this man. Me and my Grandma would watch him when he came on when I was little. Dude came up with some NICE paintings.”
he sho did, and lets not talk about the fro, looking like white mike lol.
yep comeback the real estate.
I had some drama over the weekend too, i have to blog about it here shortly.
“and that guy that used to paint trees n stuff, always talking bout swish swish swish swish, he would make some of the coolest noises with that paint brush lol.”
YES.. I remember him
And Julia Childs. I loved her voice as she cooked!
“he sho did, and lets not talk about the fro, looking like white mike lol.”
He died…he always made me sleepy too in a good way…
@ NoNo…I can NOT picture you actually liking No 1. Ladies…
Why not?
And Julia Childs. I loved her voice as she cooked!
was that the lady with the hump in her back? that woman scared me.
“was that the lady with the hump in her back? that woman scared me.”
Yes that is her and you done murked me
CBG: “@ Hewie…re JaJa being missed..this doesn’t sound good.!!! LOL”
Hey, I was just borrowing her phrase.
Mikki: “and that guy that used to paint trees n stuff, always talking bout swish swish swish swish, he would make some of the coolest noises with that paint brush lol.”
Did you see the “Riley Wuz Here” episode of The Boondocks? They had a caricature of that guy on there. Since http://www.surfthechannel.com is blocked on my work computer, I can’t give a link to the episode.
I actually watch a few shows that most people find weird.
King of the Hill – This show is so funny to me.
FOX News – You have got to see what America’s conservatives are saying so not to be too surprised.
Californication – This guy’s life is amazing and his plight is so interesting to me.
Back to the topic at hand, I like Jill Scott, perhaps more than any heretosexual man should, but I don’t have HBO and have no intentions of paying for it. I guess I’ll have to wait for the season to come out on DVD to see it.
“Californication – This guy’s life is amazing and his plight is so interesting to me.”
@ Dr. J…i was looking at Apple tv the other day wondering what that show was about. I love the word.
@ NoNo…I dunno..Let me ask you this..do you think Jill Scott, as a man is sexxy in this show?
“King of the Hill”
this show makes my azz itch
my new favorite show is 101 ways to kill yourself on spike
“Back to the topic at hand, I like Jill Scott, perhaps more than any heretosexual man should, but I don’t have HBO and have no intentions of paying for it. I guess I’ll have to wait for the season to come out on DVD to see it.”
@ Hewie…i’ve been trying to get people to just sign up for a trial version of HBO..its great TV…
I wonder if some of yall men’s would holla at Jilly if she was just a “regular woman” walking down the street.
oh yes and i was sitting next to tommy hearns at church yesterday and didn’t even know it. I am sitting there like dang this guy next to me looks awful familiar lol
*awfully* I mean
Shut up Mik. That is crazy.. Church was bringing all kind of folks to the yard
@ Mik
That is crazy! I’ll never forget him from that hilarious episode of Martin.
CBG: “I wonder if some of yall men’s would holla at Jilly if she was just a “regular woman” walking down the street.”
Probably not. But how can a man not love a woman who sung:
Your hands on my hips pull me right back to you
I catch that thrust, give it right back to you
You’re in so deep I’m breathin’ for you
You grab my braids, arch my back high for you
Your diesel engine, I’m squirting mad oil on
Down on the floor til my speakers start to boil
I flip sh!t, quick slip, hip dip
And I’m twisted in your hands and your lips
And your tongue tricks
And you’re so thick,
And you’re so big,
And you’re so…
Crown Royal on ice
Okay…. Real quick I have to tell y’all the highlight of my weekend… And Comeback please remove this link later on today because I think she was exploited a lil too much already….
But y’all on Friday my parent’s house was packed with family as usual…. And my mom come barging in the door and she was like somebody want to see y’all…….
And in walks her:
http://www.nypost.com/seven/09302008/news/nationalnews/udder_madness_131449.htm
And she said “Hey Y’aaaaaallllllllll……Got milk and hit the dougie…. [minus the fit but you get the point]
Y’all know we fell out laughin…
While we being snobbish let me say that old school tv is the best!
Cosby Show
A Different World
Living Single
For Your Love
Roseanne
Gullah Gullah Island
I Love Lucy
Sanford and Son
These shows are winners.
@ NoNo…I dunno..Let me ask you this..do you think Jill Scott, as a man is sexxy in this show?
Well she has a good heart, that is sexy…but if I had to choose I think her assistant is sexier, her aloofness and her motivation to be successful & validated is attractive to me.
@80’s – She really walked into yalls party??? LMAO. When this was in the news, I could NOT stop laughing about! Where do you live?? You know Middletown is like 20 minutes from where I’m at.
@ 80’s
I AM DONE!
I remember reading about her a few months ago. How does your family know her?
That song gives me chills.
I am dead at that lady 80s!
@ Hugh – That song is sooooo secksy!
She really walked into yalls party??? LMAO. When this was in the news, I could NOT stop laughing about! Where do you live?? You know Middletown is like 20 minutes from where I’m at.
@V. Renee…. My parents stay on a busy street so I see her all the time….She came in the house after my momma on Friday… ….. On Saturday my daddy bbq’ed and it was people over and I went outside and she was standing in our driveway waving an American Flag….. And she came back around yesterday. She was carryin a bible and said she got baptized….
That’s our local overnight celebrity though…
But yeah that’s where I from… I live in Ky though right now… But I’m home all the time.
@ 80s…ARE YOU SERIOUSLY SERIOUS!!!!!!
i can’t believe shes 32!
I remember reading about her a few months ago. How does your family know her?
@Jada…. Everybody in my city knows her!!!!! But I have a real welcoming family… So if she see people outside of my parents house then she’ll just walk up….. And they’ll just be like hey Michelle…. And she’ll linger for a bit… Try to bum some money, a ride, cigarettes, whatever she can off of whoever out there….
ARE YOU SERIOUSLY SERIOUS!!!!!!
@Comeback… Serious as a heart attack…. I used to think there were mental issues there…. I still think there are… But after the whole cow suit fiasco I’m starting to side eye her like is she playin her craziness up a bit… Because for one I would have never thought that she knew what an utter was….. And then how she came in the house talking bout got milk….. It’s like who told her to say this stuff… Or did she just come up with it on her own?????
@80’s – I am still over here CRACKING up!!
“”She was challenging people to ’suck her udders,’ ” Hoffman said. “I’m not joking.”"
BWHAHAHA
Hopped up outta beeeeeeeed, turned my swag on…took a look in the mirror said wassup…heeeey i get money ooooooh.
LMAO!!!! When I first heard this shat I was like WTH…but then it became a tagline, lol.
No one with any real intelligence takes it seriously, it’s just entertainment, like the Cheetah Girls and Hannah Montana…there’s no real educational value in it, it’s just for fun…ignant fun, but fun.
I don’t know why the “music snobs” get so bent out of shape about something so trivial…just like reality tv, it’s just for entertainment…the masses enjoy healthy doses of ignorance into their lives…it makes them feel better about themselves, and you know how we Americans love looking down on one another.
We are a society built on seasons and trends, things are new and then they’re old again and we move on to the next hot thing, “…it’s the only way we know how to rock.”
But it’s just for fun…y so serious, lol.?!?!?
Oooohh I knew a lady like this in G-Vegas. She was always giving somebody her sob story (which changed everyday) to get money, food, beer, and the like. She always had to throw something bout some hungry kids in there…or she would ask for a ride somewhere.
Has anyone seen this? What do u think about it?
http://bossip.com/99909/cassie-interrupted/
Safe for the yo yos
“And then how she came in the house talking bout got milk….”
@ 80s…
im really dead now. please do as you wish with my ashes.
@ V..Renee…. One time she stole one of them electric carts for handicap people at Meijers and tried to hop on Interstate 75 with it!!!!! She is always doing stuff….
So everybody in the city is just like what she do now…….
@ Nick – I can’t decide on how I feel about it. On one hand I’m like Why. But on the other, I think it’s kind of hot. She can def. pull the look off though.
“One time she stole one of them electric carts for handicap people at Meijers and tried to hop on Interstate 75 with it”
If I EVER see someone on 75 in an electric cart, Im pulling over. Just so I can laugh my azz off.
@Jada… Ain’t no sob story w/ her… She’ll just be like let me get a dollar….. Or can you take me to the store… I was dying because she was hassling my daddy’s friend about his cigarette… And finally he just gave it to her…. And then he came in the house like tell her to go on somewhere…..
nic i think she would look hawt if she just had no hair at all, but that half on half off look is NOT the business wtf are u thinking?
“@ Nick – I can’t decide on how I feel about it. On one hand I’m like Why. But on the other, I think it’s kind of hot. She can def. pull the look off though.”
@V: Exactly. On the bald side, I was thinking, if it was her, she’d look cute with a shaved head.
“nic i think she would look hawt if she just had no hair at all, but that half on half off look is NOT the business wtf are u thinking?”
EXACTLY!
@ 80’s
I have expired. I don’t NEVER, not NEVER wanna see nobody hussling up the interstate with a Hoveround!
@ Sunny re: cassie…i dont think she’s the one to pull it off..its seems more of like a publicity stunt.
if she was like a rocker chick or was known for stylistic avant garde…risk taking like Kelis..then i’d be interested..but her singing is too mainstream and traditional.
its like marilyn manson writing a childrens book..it doesn’t work.
@ Mik – I think that’s what kind of bothers me. Why half? Why not all? Maybe she was just testing it out, and will shave it all off later.
@ Nick
I think it’s interesting…not a look I would want…but interesting.
I wonder what her motivation behind it was.
Re: Cassie… I don’t like it….I’m with Comeback… All of a sudden she a rebel now…..LOL
“Danger…she smashed a homie, Danger…she smashed a homie”…LMAO!!
I LOVE REALITY TV!!!
Real talk.. I give it three weeks until you see some jobless, or night working “diva” roll up into a lounge/club in your local neighborhood with this haircut.
she aint no dang on rebel, she was probably just fetching puffy some cheese cake a few months ago.
“if she was like a rocker chick or was known for stylistic avant garde…risk taking like Kelis..then i’d be interested..but her singing is too mainstream and traditional.”
@Comeback: Exactly! I was thinking she was trying to be like Rihanna.
“Real talk.. I give it three weeks until you see some jobless, or night working “diva” roll up into a lounge/club in your local neighborhood with this haircut.”
@Dr. J: I bet u are right!
@Jada: I am cracking up at your numerous uses of interesting

please no, maybe if it was bey, keshia, or reeree maybe but not cassie, she isn’t a trend setter, nor is she that popular.
“Danger…she smashed a homie, Danger…she smashed a homie”…LMAO!!
I LOVE REALITY TV!!!
I was crying lauging at them fools on this episode. And when Moms was like NO, NO, and NO! Then Pops changed his mind (He ain’t crazy, he gotta go home and sleep with the wife).
Jada, yeah he was definitely not gonna defy his wife…she looks like she can take him on a bad day, lol.
That No, No, No was classic!
@Jada: I am cracking up at your numerous uses of interesting
LOL. Ain’t much else to say Sunny.
“LOL. Ain’t much else to say Sunny.”
I know.. I just stared and shook my head. The two styles are not meshing.
Jada, yeah he was definitely not gonna defy his wife…she looks like she can take him on a bad day, lol.
LOL…she d@mn sure do! Her face was so serious!
Real talk.. I give it three weeks until you see some jobless, or night working “diva” roll up into a lounge/club in your local neighborhood with this haircut.
Too late, this girl at the casino was rockin the same cut weekend before last.
Too late, this girl at the casino was rockin the same cut weekend before last.
Followers just take stuff too far sometimes.
“Too late, this girl at the casino was rockin the same cut weekend before last.”
And what kinda job is she doing for that to be okay?
“Too late, this girl at the casino was rockin the same cut weekend before last”
just stuuupid
I have a few shows that I actually like, but only a few make me feel like snob:
1) Meet The Press. I feel like I’m smarter than you when I watch this and you don’t. LOL It’s to the point now that being a viewer of Sunday morning talk shows is a must-have for attractiveness to be present.
2) Rome on HBO
3) Tudors on Showtime
Both of these speak to the history buff in me that has supplanted the former lover of math.
4) Curb Your Enthusiasm. This show is so hilariously funny and the story lines are woven together exceptionally well within a single episode. Definitely a thinking man/woman’s comedy without sacrificing the hilarity.
I see music snobbishness has been touched on here, and I am DEFINITELY one of those. I wrote today about how the slow jam/dance has died because my taste was too snobbish for the current stuff thats out. LOL
Offy I don’t watch any of that!
But I so feel you about the slow jam.
I think Babyface just made a song about what happened to all the good love songs.
Hey Jada! I’m going through the comments and glad to see that you are back and feeling better! You were about to make me run up in NC and conduct some MIA searches. LOL

LOL…not an APB! Oh and I finally broke open my Wii Fit and I am in love. I especially love the balance games. My sister is fierce at the stepping…I get tripped up.
@Jada, yes, the Wii Fit is the shiznit. The Ski games and the soccer heading games have me ADDICTED. And I was surprised that the yoga was fun and challenging too. You see my girl?? LOL
LOL…I’m more into the male…but I haven’t even tried Yoga yet. The soccor ball one is one of my favorites too. The tightrope walk, hoola hoop (my sides hurt), and the ski ones are fun.
@offdawall
yeahp. If Hip Hop is dead, then R&B is umm…much…deader.
I was scoping out some early 90’s. r&B. How they actually sang to an actual woman. How they actually had groups that sang IN HARMONY. How they had the crispiest dance routines…
From now on, I’m gonna have early 90’s r&B in the background when I talk to girls on the phone lol.
I miss 90s R&B… all it takes is for me to turn on Hi-5’s “The Kissing Game.”
“The tightrope walk, hoola hoop (my sides hurt), and the ski ones are fun”
I was at a christmas party playin the wii, it was a white girl at the party and amazingly she was winning all the games the black folks couldn’t, we couldn’t ski and she could, we could hoola hoop and she couldn’t, she could play tennis and we couldn’t, it was hillar!!!
“From now on, I’m gonna have early 90’s r&B in the background when I talk to girls on the phone lol.”
IM DEAD!!!
@Awesomeness: Exactly. Even the good slow songs that may come out (like some of Jill Scotts’ stuff) are NOT slow jams. If you can’t grind your lady of the evening into bliss to a song where even the harmony implies it’s “strokin’ time,” then it just ain’t a slow jam
I miss 90s R&B… all it takes is for me to turn on Hi-5’s “The Kissing Game.”
YES! 90’s R&B was so great and fun. And I remember when videos actually had concepts and told a story. Now….the bullsh!t! It’s all about stroking, sticking things here or there, shaking @ss. Ehhhh.
If it wasn’t for life and Ne-Yo I’d be done!
@JAda: I will admit that watching a woman do the Wii Fit hula hoop is……. foreplay. LOL
@offy and jada…I be so jealous my cousin and aunts can kill the soccer game…. I guess my balance is off… Cause I can’t get that down for nothing in the world… LOL
“YES! 90’s R&B was so great and fun. And I remember when videos actually had concepts and told a story. Now….the bullsh!t! It’s all about stroking, sticking things here or there, shaking @ss. Ehhhh.”
I agree!
@80’s: Those dayum panda heads are the devil!! LOL But I have that game pretty much mastered, though I’m still prone to take a cleat to the forehead on occassion.
“your lady of the evening’
@ Offey..this sounds so prostitutish!!!
Offdwall: “I wrote today about how the slow jam/dance has died because my taste was too snobbish for the current stuff thats out. LOL”
Shaking my head and co-signing. Of my useless talents I had in the 90’s, I could d@mn sure put together a slow song mixtape or CD that would have the most uptight woman loosening her bra straps. RIP, slow jam.
I was all alone, I was feeling rather low
I needed someone to lift my spirits up
So I dropped in on a dance, just to take a glance
And there this sweet, lovely thing was, she was more than enough
I asked her for her hand, said, “Would you like to dance?”
So pleased that I had asked, she quickly took my hand
And we danced and fell in love on a slow jam
Play another slow jam, this time make it sweet
On a slow jam, for my baby and for me
Play another slow jam, this time make it sweet
On a slow jam

LOL. Yes Mik the Fit is off the chains!
LOL@CBG…. you know your slow dance partners are like people you sit next to on the airline! Just because you are all up in each other’s space doesn’t mean there is a lasting commitment to interaction or friendship! Just making the best out of the close quarters.
so lady of the eve is just about the temporary nature of a slow dance, though if done correctly, many more interactions shall ensue. LOL
all that to say… dang, it does sound prostitutish. LOL My bad… unintended.
slow song mixtape or CD
@Hugh: This is a lost artform of the young adult male. I had categories for the mixtapes I created! LOL this was serious, serious business. I don’t think women really understand the dedication and planning men have to the slow jam tape.

@JAda: I will admit that watching a woman do the Wii Fit hula hoop is……. foreplay. LOL
Hmmm…files that away in the back of my mind.
@offy and jada…I be so jealous my cousin and aunts can kill the soccer game…. I guess my balance is off… Cause I can’t get that down for nothing in the world… LOL
80’s I feel you…took me a while to work up to being decent at it. My brother comes in on the first try and outranks everybody. My cousin Tre is good at it too. I’m actually starting to believe that men generally have better balance than women.
And them shoes they throw ain’t no joke!
@Hugh: This is a lost artform of the young adult male. I had categories for the mixtapes I created! LOL this was serious, serious business. I don’t think women really understand the dedication and planning men have to the slow jam tape.
LOL Shut up! I used to have my various ones as well. And I would make different volumes. Everybody was always asking me for a copy of my slow jam cds.
@ 80’s
That Ursher and Monica was the business!
@ Jada – What was your wii fit age? I still don’t have the wii fit, but when I did the test at my girls, I was old as he.l.l. I felt some kind of way about it, and pulled out my Yoga dvd like oh Hel.l. naw.

V you got me cracking up! I believe my age was 47…which was bad bad bad! But I expected it…I need to get my excercise up.
Offdwall: “LOL this was serious, serious business. I don’t think women really understand the dedication and planning men have to the slow jam tape.”
Truth. I took it serious. When a friend would ask me to put a CD together, they used to get irritated when I asked what was it for. Jump off? Long-time girlfriend? Love-making or just straight up f___in’? 70’s, 80’s, or 90’s music? Those factors were vital in the songs selected. But I would always have two happy customers after putting the CD together.
Jada: “That Ursher and Monica was the business!”
Originally done by Midnight Star. I didn’t care for the Usher/Monica version.
@ Jada – Your’s was good compared to mine. I think mine was like late 60’s. I’m convinced it’s a set up…so they can show improvement. It def. got me motivated.
@ Hugh – What are examples of jump off songs -v- long-time gf??
80’s: “@hugh… This is my jam”
That song was a favorite of mine to put at the end of a CD. Although depending on the type of CD I was putting together, I usually ended it with Luther.
V Renee: “@ Hugh – What are examples of jump off songs -v- long-time gf??”
Quick examples off the top of my head:
Jump off
Maxwell – Til The Cops Come Knockin’
Changing Faces – Stroke You Up
Joe – All The Things Your Man Won’t Do
Long-time girlfriend
The Deele – Two Occasions
After 7 – Ready Or Not
Chante Moore – Candlelight and You
@ Jazzy
I don’t believe I’ve ever heard the original for that song. Must be something!
I don’t believe I’ve ever heard the original for that song. Must be something!
@Jada…Really? Midnight Starr got their start at the school I went to… So they used to always come back and perform.. I couldn’t wait to hear that song.
one more day of work, THANK JESUS!
Er’body up in here is getting on my nerves.. nothin in particular, just them breathing and stopping in my doorway and talking about nonsense. lol
Me and my lil brother used to have to take turns watching the “big tv” all the time and he’d kill me with Power rangers….
http://bossip.com/100422/power-ranger-sentenced-to-death-for-murder/#more-100422
Sunny Power Rangers was the shizzle when it first came on and had all of the original Rangers. After that…they were doing too much!
@jada: Girl, they were soo corny. lol… remember how they used to act and move? It was all jerk movements.
lol.. I’ve still never seen it. Maybe I’ll catch it on someones DVR.
Entourage (what a shock) American Experience, American Masters, History channel but not everything and same for NatGeo, Bill Maher, The Simpsons
