I just want to wish everyone a very happy holidays: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, Feliz Navidad, and a Happy New Year.
I’m extemely thankful that this has been an outstanding year. In every single way. This time last year, I was in a horrible relationship situationship that I couldn’t figure out how to get out of, I was plus almost 20 pounds of ”love weight”, and spending even more time giving a dam#n about what people thought about me (check the tape). For the first time in my adult life I can honestly say that I think I am a better person this year than I was the previous year or any year before that and its no longer tied to another person(s) or e-stalker’s opinion of me.
I blog alot about love and though,(treehouse confession…Hummy’s eye is good.) Santa did bring me my very own man . Lalah,start writing THAT song (lol). It’s not REALLY about him. At least not yet. What it remains about for me, is being my absolute best. Being the person that I am attracting into the relationship designed for him and I. (like attracting like in the simplest form).
This blog has been the catalyst for that. I’m deeply grateful for each and everyone one of the readers and the lurkers. Life is about knowing what you know for sure and/or realizing other personal truths.
Lastly, myPastor said something this past Sunday that deeply touched me. I’ve heard it most of my life. But sometimes you have to hear it from someone else and in a different way. “You are blessed to be a blessing. Its not about the stuff you have”. You are given, so that you may give (that includes time just as much as it does money).
With that said I am hoping we all will spend some time (and money) being of service to those in need and setting a service minded tone for the upcoming year as well. Your local shelters and meals on wheels are always in need of help.
Note:::The former time selfishness I have been VERY guilty of so I will be MIA for a few days, walking my talk.
PS…its also nice to see black blogs (and black women especially) writing about being service minded all year around and being fabulous too. Shout out to: The Fabulous Giver.
PPS..I also wanted to publically thank Jac for organizing the Secret Santa and helping me do a few other things offline.

Thank you for this blog. Even though I couldn’t comment like I wanted to because I was full-time graduate student, your insights and conversations really got me through this year. I am amazed that I actually got my graduate degree because I thought that it wouldn’t happen. Even though I am in major debt and I am looking for a job I must keep reminding myself to give praise because it could be much worse.
I am working on the positivity for 2009 and cleaning my physical/mental house to allow for better things to reside. I am even okay with the possibility that this relationship that I have had for 3 years might be winding down but I am not upset because he gave me the good skills to know what I will require in any future relationships.
Is it just so nice to speak with black women who aren’t preoccupied with tearing each other down but learning and lifting each other up.
Let me go to bed (came back from a party where I had a good time and did some netoworking for 2009)

So this post and the song..got me all weepy. I thinK i found someone I could actually fall for and it is amazing how the Lord has been a blessing in my life. I can honestly say there is not one thing I would change in my life right now. I know that everything I have and will go through will help me be a better me in the future.

I’m really sorry to hear about Felix. One of my greatest fears about having a pet (getting a little) puppy is that he/she 10 or 11 people years

How was you guys’ Xmas?
I spent my christmas alone. ..eating chinese…and then making myself a coke float. So all in all it was just ok.. Got the call from Mr. SWV asking me to be his girl so that cheered me up a little. I’m hoping for a good new years… his son’s bday is the 30th so I’m hoping he lets his dad come back so we can spend it together.

He had been calling and texting and calling and texting since Sunday and I wouldn’t answer. I was over her house on Xmas eve, and he called again. She told me I needed to tell him what he did.

Jolster: Girl no, I’m going to visit my friend in Alabama in January.. Her husband was killed the day before Thanksgiving and I just want to go see her.
