Affirm Yo Self

Most people know that I heart heart heart Louise Hay, the mother of metaphysics. So when I found my old journal (filled with her affirmations) from late last year, I realized why.

(affirmations are positive statements about your life)

I was in such a stale relationship at the time I wrote them. And it would take me another 4 months to end it.   I was hanging on for all the wrong reasons, familial being one and refusing to see the writing on the wall being two. I can’t believe now looking back that I was trying to affirm our “situationship”. I wasn’t happy. I was at my all time fattest. And when I wasn’t pretending that the said situation could work, I was trying to figure out a decent and permanent way out.

I discovered around the time I was fully ready to walk away, that you can’t really and truly affirm what in your heart of hearts you know isn’t right for you. I really feel like a great relationship should permeate all around you, in the decisions you make, in the work you do, in the way your body looks and feels, and even in your over all mental well-being. Self-love is equally important but romantic love should only enhance not detract from who you were truly meant to be.

Below are Louise Hay’s affirmations taken from part of my journal entry last year. From a past poll a few of you questioned where Christianity fits in affirmations/thought consciousness/metaphysics. Well I believe with everything in my soul that God was a meta physician. I offer two very powerful scripture passages.

“As a man thinketh, So is he” Proverbs 23:7.

And

”Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21
