On Punishment

The worst thing anybody could do (particularly a man) is try and put my ass on punishment. If I wasn’t going for it in kindergarten, why would it be effective at 33 (in one month). Remember those little kids who would come to the corner to try and liberate you-or at least make the punishment more bearable, fun even? (well its happening nanny nanny boo boo sucka).

The interesting thing about “punishment” as an adult (and aside from an actual prison). You have to consent to it. But it doesn’t work for only kids (who know how to amuse themselves). Or women with “options”, who also might have A.D.D, and be kind of cute.

ladies: I don’t care if you’re dating Tyson Beckford/Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje/Idris Elba all personified in one body, with a slowed down party and his parents on speed dial. You ALWAYS ALWAYS have options.

even if you have to switch continents……(and learn dutch) to talk to a man named Boris who covers a Donny Hathaway song like nobody’s business.

you have options.

Sometimes punishment can keep you honest – especially if you really like the dude CBG. Sit in your corner, think about what you did wrong, and wear your “hat” with pride! lol

Honestly, I was recently on “punishment” and I learned a lot…I learned that the punisher could not do without me and I was quickly forgiven :)

    Hathaway Stax Debut Scheduled
    March 21, 2008 – RB Hip-Hop

    By Gail Mitchell, L.A.

Lalah Hathaway’s first album for Stax Records, “Self Portrait,” will hit stores June 3. Distributed by Concord Music Group, the project reunites Hathaway with producer Rex Rideout. He produced the 2004 Grammy-nominated Luther Vandross tribute album, “Forever, For Always, For Luther,” on which Hathaway performed “Forever, For Always, For Love” (which reached No. 1 on Adult R&B).

In addition to Rideout, Hathaway-the daughter of R&B icon Donny Hathaway-collaborates with singer/songwriters Rahsaan Patterson and Sandra St. Victor, plus producers Kenneth Crouch, Paula Gallitano and Terrace Martin (fresh from work on Snoop Dogg’s latest release, “Ego Trippin’”). Hathaway co-produced mid-tempo lead single “Let Go” with Rideout. Featuring Patterson on background vocals, the single goes to radio April 21.

“Self Portrait” is Hathaway’s fourth solo album. Her previous albums include “Outrun the Sky” (2004), “A Moment” (1994) and “Lalah Hathaway” (1990). She also paired with jazz musician Joe Sample on the critically acclaimed 1999 album, “The Song Lives On.” Hathaway, who guests on bassist’s Marcus Miller’s recently released “Marcus” album, is also serving as a “Circle of Promise” Ambassador for the breast cancer non-profit organization Susan G. Komen.

Don’t get it twisted – Anti is still “single”. I don’t think one lady can keep my attention. I just might have relationship A.D.D., too.

@CBG: Speaking of my “ShTICK” – it does like a certain something that is “soft and pink”.
